About the role

Obtains and records pain rating, weight, height, intake and output, and finger stick blood glucose. Demonstrates efficiency with safety lights, turns, and positioning of patients to ensure correct body alignment and maintain skin integrity. Assists patients with ADLs, including passing meals, nourishments, and fresh water at bedside. Participates in hourly rounding and answers call lights in a timely manner. Reports changes in vital signs and patient status to appropriate staff. Maintains a clean, organized environment and helps with inventory of supplies and equipment. Follows directions of registered nurses, clinical coordinators, and managers. Supports the unit secretary by answering phones and directing patients and visitors. Delivers and picks up items from other departments and interacts with all ancillary departments. Completes other duties as assigned and proactively anticipates the needs of other team members.

  • Ability to learn and apply computer-related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
  • Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
  • 1+ medical terminology or unit clerk experience [Preferred]
  • 12-lead EKG experience [Preferred]
  • EMT or Paramedic experience [Preferred]
  • Vascular Sheath pull training /experience [Preferred]

Skills

  • Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]
  • OR EMT-Advanced (EMT-A) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
