Position Summary Information

  • Job Description Summary: The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.
  • Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Three (3) years of EMS experience. Current certification or license from the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Paramedic.
  • Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Successful college teaching experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.

Job Duties

  • Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
  • Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
  • Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
  • Maintain proper certifications in teaching disciplines.
