Job Responsibilities

  • Serves the 14-county health district
  • Affirms training needs of staff and community partners
  • Plans and/or coordinates training sessions, drills, and exercises for the agency and its partners
  • Utilizes exercises meeting state and federal guidelines/standards as training activities
  • Evaluates training and learning outcomes
  • Participates in general Emergency Preparedness planning and response activities
  • May require weekend and/or evening work
  • Provides excellent customer service and maintains HIPAA standards
  • Responds to Public Health Emergencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, emergency management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, AND Two years of experience, OR a High School diploma or GED, AND Two years of experience in emergency management
  • Physical requirements include occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Qualifications include previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health
  • Computer skills (Office suite)
  • Greater than one year of experience providing training or instructional services in a functional area
  • The ability to hitch, tow, and back a trailer
  • Experience developing collaborations/partnerships
  • Emergency Preparedness Experience
  • NIMS/ICS Courses: 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800
  • WEBEOC, GHA911, and ReadyOp Communication system experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
