Emergency Dept Technician F/T Nights

Overview

Sentara Martha Jefferson’s Free Standing Emergency Department is hiring an Emergency Department Technician – Full Time Nights. The ED Technician assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients and performs patient procedures and treatments under their supervision.

About the role

• De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• One of the following at time of hire:
  • EMT-B with state or national certification
  • Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates
  • Current student enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester
• Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years may also be considered

Preferred

• One year of healthcare experience
