Emergency Department Technician, Adult ED, 36 Hours (Nights)

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients in the ED and their families.
• Clinical services could include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, assisting with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and emotional support.
• Contribute to the efficient operation of the ED, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients.
• A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Pass clinical competency testing.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic math and computer proficiency.
• At least one year of experience of direct patient care.
• One of the following: Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation, Completed an approved Emergency Medical Technician training program, Completed an approved Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant training program, Worked for at least one year as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation.
• Completed an approved Emergency Medical Technician training program.
• Completed an approved Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant training program.
• Worked for at least one year as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician, or Medical Assistant.

Skills

Pay

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
