Emergency Department Tech Assist - PRN

About the role

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, this position assists the ED staff in activities related to moving equipment and patients, stocking carts and rooms, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Moves EMS equipment to locker after patient use.
• Picks up and transports supplies as needed.
• Restocks AEC suture cart and ensures that the cart is locked at shift end.
• Assists in maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the safe transport of patients to, from, and within the Emergency Department, utilizing proper safety measures.
• Demonstrates application of correct procedures in the use of transportation carts and wheelchairs.
• Affirms patient treatment rooms are adequately stocked to provide patient care utilizing the room stocking checklists in place in the ED.
• Assists staff in ensuring patient treatment rooms are stocked to provide patient care utilizing the room stocking checklists in place in the ED.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• 1-3 months related experience and/or training preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Must be friendly, positive, and professional when working with patients.
• Must be able to adapt to situations when transporting patients of all ages including children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
