Major Responsibilities
- Provides an experience and environment of patient and family centered care including incorporation of the organization’s mission and values.
- Creates and maintains a satisfying workplace that fosters professional growth and job satisfaction for all members of the healthcare team.
- Develops and implements recruitment and retention strategies that support a culture of leadership.
- Determines the qualifications and competencies of the personnel who provide patient care services.
- Directs the quality assurance and process improvement activities, and ensures compliance with patient care practice standards.
- Continually assesses and improves the performance of the services provided.
- Collaborates with hospital personnel and physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
- Promotes a positive working environment in the department and hospital.
- Ensures services maintain compliance with the standards of practice for the department as well as regulatory and/or accreditation agencies.
- Establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.
- Collaborates with Senior Management in meeting facility goals.
- Takes patient assignments as needed to meet census demands and fluctuations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Three (3) plus years’ acute emergency services or critical care nursing required
- Progressive leadership experience preferred
- Current licensure in Texas as Registered Nurse
- Current BLS through American Heart Association required
- Board Certification in leadership, critical care, emergency nursing preferred
