Emergency Clinical Pharmacist - Evening Shift

About the role

The Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist functions as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Emergency Department and provides comprehensive pharmacy services. Located at Holy Cross Health - Silver Spring, MD.

Responsibilities

• Adult and pediatric code response
• Code STEMI/stroke team response
• Drug information consults
• Prospective medication order review
• Pharmacokinetic consults and other clinical consults
• Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare and dispense appropriate medications
• Manage drug therapy
• Review, access, and maintain patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplication
• Assist in developing department competencies
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians in distributive functions and departmental operations
• Work to improve patient satisfaction, lower costs, and improve quality

Requirements

• Current licensure from the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy
• PGY1 Pharmacy Residency required*
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire
• Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification – current Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist (BCCP) or achieved within 1 year of hire
• Three years of experience in critical care/emergency medicine plus current BPS certification required in lieu of PGY1 pharmacy residency

Pay

Pay range: $58.55 - $90.78 USD hourly. Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours per week, evening shifts as per department needs.
