Emergency Care Technician PRN

About the Role

The Emergency Care Technician (ECT) serves as a supportive member of the patient care team, assisting in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care and other duties to support the operations of the Emergency Department. The ECT assists the RN in the patient care process and greets patients and families as they enter the Emergency Department lobby. Additional duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care under the supervision of the RN.
• Support Emergency Department operations by performing assigned duties within the role’s scope.
• Greet patients and families upon their arrival in the Emergency Department lobby.
• May be cross-trained in a minimum of two job classes (e.g., Monitor Tech, PCT, Lab Tech) with completion of "Dual" competencies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an accredited EMS Program.
• Successfully passed the Psychomotor Skills Assessment and written exam.
• At least 2 years of Advanced Life Support field experience.
• EMT licensure required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
