About the role
eMerge is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney with a minimum of five years of experience to join any of our offices in a privileged lead capacity. This role will be the primary guardian of attorney-client privilege and work product protections throughout the document review process, ensuring that privileged material is never produced and that review activities adhere to eMerge's established privilege protocols.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for privilege-related issues arising during document review.
- Design and implement privilege sweeps and screens to identify and protect privileged material.
- Consult with case teams on privilege questions, issues, and strategy throughout the review lifecycle.
- Ensure all review workflows follow standard eMerge privilege protocols and procedures.
- Draft and finalize privilege logs upon completion of review.
- Escalate complex privilege determinations to senior eMerge attorneys as appropriate.
- Oversee and conduct quality control of AI-assisted privilege reviews, including familiarity with the tools and methodologies that support these workflows.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience as an attorney.
- Licensed and in good standing in the state where you practice.
- In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency with preservation, filtering, and export capabilities of corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity solutions, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Expertise with Relativity is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and direct experience overseeing AI-assisted privilege reviews.
Pay
Salary range: $115,000 - $140,000, dependent on relevant years of experience.
