EMC Lab Specialist
About the role
In this position, the EMC Lab Specialist is responsible for leading onboard EMC testing, diagnostics, and lab operations in support of vehicle development programs. This role combines deep technical expertise in EMC, RF systems, and software development with strong ownership of testing processes, lab infrastructure, and cross-functional problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead onboard radio receiver (AM, FM & DAB) CISPR EMC testing and diagnosis, including hands-on testing of development and production vehicles and resolution of all identified testing and vehicle-related issues.
- Develop, document, and deliver clear, simplified onboard CISPR test procedures to enable consistent execution.
- Develop and maintain software required for onboard radio receiver testing, including custom drivers and integration of new test equipment such as signal generator, RF Receiver, Spectrum Analyzer etc.
- Own day-to-day lab operations and maintenance, proactively identifying and resolving facility and equipment issues including dyno system issues, equipment failures and electrical problems.
- Investigate and seek deep understanding of all issues identified during development testing, driving thorough root-cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement of testing methods, lab capabilities, and development workflows to improve efficiency and test quality.
- Provide EMC technical support to vehicle programs and product design teams.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working with electrical test equipment including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers and signal generators.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle systems, test instrumentation, and EMC lab environments.
- Proficiency in software development for test automation, instrumentation control, and data analysis.
- Practical electronics background with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently while owning complex technical systems and processes end-to-end.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Technology, or a closely related discipline or relevant years of professional experience.

Pay
This position is a salary grade range of 5 to 8 and ranges from $68,300 - $192,900. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
