Embroidery Operator

About the role

As an Embroidery Operator at GALLS, you will ensure Value Added Services (VAS) are applied to garments accurately, on time, and in accordance with GALLS high-quality standards. You will work cross-functionally to perform various duties, including garment prep, sewing, emblem application, embroidery, and auditing. Associates use several pieces of industrial machinery, including sergers, embroidery, and sewing machines.

Responsibilities

• Perform all VAS-related functions in an efficient and accurate manner
• Operate various machines, including sewing, embroidery, engraving, and heat press
• Ensure high-quality standards by thoroughly reading and executing the Work Instruction Document (WID) to include the correct product, size, quantity, color, service to be rendered, and placement locations
• Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions
• Identify and communicate any job delays and/or problems
• Maintain daily production requirements and standards
• Audit finished VAS against the order ticket to ensure the order is completed accurately
• Maintain a safe and clean work area
• Work as a team to accomplish all productivity goals efficiently and accurately
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent
• Previous experience in a tailor shop, alterations, seamstress, embroidery, and/or similar environment strongly desired
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to execute instructions and read orders accurately
• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software, including GALLS internal systems
• Good manual dexterity, with an ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines while performing high-quality work
