Responsibilities

  • Create, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for embedded electronic systems and software.
  • Validate system functionality, performance, reliability, and quality across various operating conditions.
  • Identify, document, and track defects through their full lifecycle, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
  • Perform regression testing to confirm that new changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Communicate test results, findings, and risks clearly to software developers and other stakeholders.
  • Document test procedures, test environments, and results to support compliance, traceability, and repeatability.
  • Use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies to support system-level verification.
  • Review source code where needed to derive effective and targeted test cases.
  • Contribute to the improvement of automated testing frameworks and processes in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–5 years of experience in software testing, verification, or validation.
  • Hands-on experience developing test cases from requirements and design documentation.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Bash, or C.
  • Experience with version control systems, requirements management tools, and bug tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments and iterative delivery practices.
  • Ability to use electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in identifying and documenting defects.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with software developers and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience testing embedded systems, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked on embedded electronic products.
  • Exposure to bare-metal and/or RTOS-based architectures and their constraints.
  • Understanding of hardware/software interactions in electronic products and embedded environments.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools for embedded or software systems.
  • Ability to review and interpret source code to design targeted and meaningful test cases.
  • Linux experience, including working in Linux-based development or test environments.
  • Interest in continuous improvement of test strategies, automation coverage, and quality processes.
