About the role

Konami Gaming is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This position involves extensive C++ programming skills, excellent customer relations, and teamwork to achieve company and customer goals.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop software components and computing systems software for engineering, hardware, and manufacturing needs.
  • Apply standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development lifecycle to ensure high-quality, sustainable engineering applications.
  • Independently determine and develop solutions to technical problems of advanced scope and complexity.
  • Coordinate testing scripts, documentation, and deployment schedules with Quality Assurance, Training, and Documentation departments.
  • Create and/or review development design documentation as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Customer Relations

  • Interact with customers to gather feedback on the stability and reliability of systems software.
  • Create and maintain strong customer relationships.

Team Leadership

  • Provide guidance to junior developers to ensure the successful completion of programs.
  • Occasionally function in a project leadership role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of extensive programming experience (C++) with optional Java experience.
  • Experience with graphics engines and frameworks.
  • Experience with embedded system development and tools.
  • Experience with C++.
  • Experience with Linux and gcc toolchains.
  • Experience with GUI development.
  • Experience with OpenGL and graphics engines.
  • Experience with multi-threaded applications and socket APIs.
  • Experience with HTML, XML, JSON, GTK, Boost, network protocols, and Gtest.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A high degree of analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate or expert level understanding and usage of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently (verbal and written) with all levels of the business.
  • Ability to obtain and retain gaming licensure.
