Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

As a software engineer for Airborne Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for airborne computers that process and display mission data in the cockpit, crypto products for identifying friendly aircraft, and weapon control systems that enable the launch and control of precision guided weapons. We work to ensure the world's most advanced aircraft maintain air superiority and information dominance.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for embedded systems, including Linux, RTOS, and hardware/software integration.
• Design, code, integrate, and test software solutions.
• Apply technical standards and methodologies to solve challenges creatively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical leadership.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Leverage hardware specifications to compose low-level software solutions.
• Champion new ideas and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related STEM field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance at the time of hire (U.S. citizenship required).
• Strong proficiency in languages such as C++, C, and Python.
• Solid background in embedded software development.
• Experience with software design, integration, and testing.

Pay

Target salary range: USD $118,570.00 – $126,000.00 per year, based on experience and geographic location.

Schedule

This position offers flexible schedules, including a 9/80 workweek (every other Friday off).

Workplace Options

This role is hybrid or fully onsite, depending on program assignment. Onsite work will be based at the Bloomington, Minnesota office (8800 Queens Avenue S).
