Responsibilities
- Lead software design and development activities across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Design and develop software applications for medical devices used in lab, hospital, and remote environments.
- Develop secure, cloud-connected applications that comply with HIPAA and IEC standards.
- Integrate software with hardware platforms and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software interfaces.
- Lead the development of control algorithms and real-time, interrupt-driven communication systems.
- Translate user needs and system-level specifications into detailed, testable software requirements.
- Design, plan, and oversee the execution of unit, integration, and automated acceptance testing.
- Produce and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation in alignment with FDA software design control requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system testing, validation, and integration activities.
- Drive problem-solving for complex technical challenges and contribute to system architecture decisions.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and C/C++ development.
- Experience with embedded Linux or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design fundamentals.
- Strong knowledge of software design principles, system architecture, and development best practices.
- Experience developing cloud-connected and/or embedded systems applications.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as FDA, IEC, or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead or mentor engineers and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
