Embedded Hardware/Software Engineer - GDS Corp

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Embedded Hardware/Software Engineer to develop and maintain software solutions that are key to our business success. The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of basic microprocessor electronics and experience writing and debugging embedded C code in STM‑based systems, as well as PLC programming in Structured Text and Windows Forms programming with Visual Studio (2‑5 years preferred). Applicants must be local to League City, TX, and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented software.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across various platforms.
• Proactively communicate plans and project status in code reviews and team meetings.
• Suggest improvements to continuously evolve software development processes.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• 2‑3 years experience with basic electronics, including reading and understanding schematic diagrams.
• Proficiency with embedded C programming across multiple platforms; experience with FreeRTOS or similar embedded RTOS preferred.

Schedule

Full‑time, in‑office position at the GDS office in League City, TX. Shift schedule: Monday‑Thursday 7 am‑4 pm, Friday 7 am‑12 pm.
