Embedded Engineer
We are hiring for an embedded engineer to develop software, test, and work closely with aerospace-focused requirements.
About the role
This role is primarily focused on writing test plans and requirements, with the following breakdown:
- 10% coding
- 20% requirements
- 70% testing/debugging
Responsibilities include the complete development lifecycle of embedded software, software authoring and reviewing, debugging embedded C software, and root cause investigation for problem reports.
Responsibilities
- Use development tools for analyzing software performance (stack/memory usage, timing margins, structural coverage of verification, etc.)
- Create test strategies for software requirements
- Support investigation of software verification failures
- Support audits by customers and government authorities
Requirements
- 3+ years of embedded experience
- Understanding of microcontroller architectures and operational principles
- Proficiency in C language
- Experience with version control tools and concepts
- Knowledge of lifecycle management tools (including requirements, tracing validation and verification, and problem reporting)
- Debugging embedded systems with simulations
- Aerospace or medical device industry experience
- Able to sustain software development for projects ranging over several years
Qualifications
- Desired: DO-178 or IEC 61508 experience
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in electrical, computer, software engineering, or computer science
- Knowledge of MISRA C standards
- Understanding of principles of power electronics
- Capable of reading schematics
Pay
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
