Email Marketing Specialist

Ducks Unlimited, a leading conservation organization, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to support the execution and growth of our email marketing program. This role focuses on hands-on email deployment, content coordination, and performance monitoring while working closely with internal teams and external agency partners. Ideal for someone who enjoys building and optimizing campaigns and wants to grow into a more strategic lifecycle marketing role over time.

Responsibilities

• Build, QA, and deploy email campaigns, newsletters, and lifecycle communications.
• Ensure emails are accurate, on-brand, and delivered on schedule, maintaining consistency across devices, inbox providers, and templates.
• Review campaign performance using established dashboards and reports, monitoring key metrics such as opens, clicks, engagement, and conversions.
• Implement testing and optimization recommendations from internal leadership and agency partners, identifying and flagging performance trends or anomalies for further analysis.
• Manage the email marketing calendar and campaign timelines, working closely with internal stakeholders to align messaging across campaigns.
• Communicate requirements, deadlines, and updates to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with content and creative teams to develop compelling email messaging aligned with Ducks Unlimited’s mission, brand voice, and audience expectations.
• Support layout and structural improvements to enhance readability and engagement.
• Customize and maintain email templates using drag-and-drop editors and reusable components, troubleshooting minor rendering or formatting issues across devices and inboxes.
• Review digital marketing performance data and apply insights to improve execution, contributing to email acquisition and list growth initiatives.
• Stay informed on email marketing trends, tools, and best practices, supporting ongoing testing and optimization initiatives.
• Partner closely with external agency teams supporting analytics and lifecycle strategy, implementing lifecycle and optimization recommendations within email platforms.
• Provide execution feedback and operational insights to support strategic initiatives, developing an understanding of lifecycle marketing concepts over time.
• Maintain organized documentation of campaigns, templates, and schedules, using office and collaboration tools to manage assets and workflows efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement of internal email processes and documentation.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, or related roles.
• Comfort reviewing marketing performance metrics and applying insights to improve execution, with ability to identify trends and support optimization efforts.
• Experience using email service providers or marketing automation platforms.
• Familiarity with HTML for email customization and troubleshooting is a plus, but not required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative tools.
• Strong attention to detail with an eye for layout, readability, and brand consistency.
• Ability to collaborate on content that resonates with target audiences.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
