ELSP Supplier Quality Specialist

About the role

In this role as ELSP Supplier Quality Specialist, you will lead the execution of supplier assessments, drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. You will also showcase your expertise by managing the supplier’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The work model for the role is onsite in Mebane, NC.

Responsibilities

• Drive approval process for supplier parts, materials, and project subcontractor services, involving collaboration with other functions/experts, including activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
• Lead in promptly addressing supply issues related to quality, deliveries, non-compliant products, or project services.
• Work together with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims cases when necessary.
• Ensure required supplier development processes are thoroughly executed to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base.
• Track and monitor scorecards of supplier performances. Assign Corrective and Preventative Actions to improve supplier performances.
• Must have the flexibility to rotate and flex to any area of production, as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in a technical field or engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years experience in supplier quality processes.
• Proficiency with measurement tools (meters, calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Demonstrated understanding of quality procedures and concepts.
• Demonstrated lean manufacturing participation; demonstrated HSE participation and support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
