About the Role
The Learning Connection (TLC) Before and After School Child Care Program. Under general supervision of the Site Coordinator/Assistant Site Coordinator, develop, plan, organize, and assist with the overall operation of a child care program. Provide supervision of operations and give direction to Student Child Care Leaders and Child Care Leaders. Direct and supervise school-age children in both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and organize child care program operations
- Supervise and direct Student Child Care Leaders and Child Care Leaders
- Direct and supervise school-age children in activities aligned with curriculum objectives and program philosophy
- Apply knowledge of child care programming, policies, and procedures
- Utilize training and staff motivation techniques
- Manage student behavior using appropriate strategies and techniques
- Maintain routine records
- Demonstrate correct oral and written usage of English, basic math, reading, and composition skills
Requirements
- One year of increasingly responsible child care or related work experience in a school-age child care program preferred
- Proof of one of the following:
- Passing the CBEST, or
- Completion of two years of college (48 units), or
- An AA degree or higher, or
- Passing the District proficiency exam in mathematics, reading, and writing prior to the job posting closing date
- A minimum of nine (9) Early Childhood Education units from an accredited college preferred
- Possession of current First Aid and CPR cards preferred
- Transcripts or Diploma must be attached to your application if using education to meet requirements
Pay
External candidates: Steps A-C based on verified previous experience, rate $21.59 - $27.50 per hour. Current, regular employees placed at the lowest step of new range which provides a raise of approximately 5%, within constraints of the salary schedule.
Schedule
- 6 hours/day, 5 days/week, 30 hours/week
- 10.5 months/year
- Part-time position: 11:30 am - 6:00 pm
