ELOP Senior Leader at Gates Elementary - Split Shift (6:55 am to 8:31 am and 1:36 pm to to 6:00 pm)

About the role

The Learning Connection (TLC) Before and After School Child Care Program under general supervision of the Site Coordinator/Assistant Site Coordinator, to develop, plan, organize and assist with the overall operation of a child care program; to provide supervision of operations and give direction to Student Child Care Leaders and Child Care Leaders; direct and supervise school-age children in both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy; and perform related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, organize and assist with the overall operation of a child care program.
• Provide supervision of operations and give direction to Student Child Care Leaders and Child Care Leaders.
• Direct and supervise school-age children in both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.
• Perform related work as required.

Requirements

• MUST ATTACH PROOF OF: - Passing the CBEST, or - Having completed two years of college (48 units), or - An AA degree or higher, or - Must have passed the District proficiency exam in mathematics, reading, and writing prior to the job posting closing date.
• A minimum of nine (9) Early Childhood Education units from an accredited college preferred.
• Possession of current First Aid and CPR cards preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of increasingly responsible child care or related work experience in a school age child care program preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of Programs offered by Child Care Services;
• Child Care Services policies and procedures;
• child care programming operation and purpose;
• training and staff motivation techniques, skills and procedures;
• rules of various sports and games.

Benefits

• Length of Work Year: 6 hours/day, 5 days/week, 30 hours/week, 10.5 months/year

Pay

• Salary dependent on experience
• Add'l Salary Info: Range 29. External candidates: Steps A-C based on verified previous experience, Rate $21.59 - $27.50.
• Current, regular employee placed at the lowest step of new range which provides a raise of approx. 5%, within constraints of the salary schedule.
