About the role

The English Language Learner Program seeks a Para-Educator to assist students in regular and resource rooms, provide first aid, and train and teach students. This position requires consistent and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Aid students in classroom activities
• Correct papers and record grades
• Supervise at lunch, activity periods, and on playground
• Run copies, laminate, and assemble items for teachers
• Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers
• Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations
• Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers
• Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums
• Conduct demonstrations to teach such skills as sports, dancing, and handicrafts
• Distribute teaching materials such as textbooks, workbooks, papers, and pencils
• Distribute tests and homework assignments, and collect them when completed
• Enforce administration policies and rules governing students
• Grade homework and tests, and compute and record results
