About The Position

The Program Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of project progress, fiscal control, customer service, staffing, program development and delivery of multiple research projects. This position partners with Executive Leadership to ensure programs are compliant with regulatory and accrediting standards. Designs, implements, and manages all aspects of the program management team to provide coordination and deployment of strategic planning/visioning and personnel development. Monitors and facilitates the integration of programs and their associated dependencies (tasks, people, money, issues, risks, etc.). Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that program building strategies are successfully developed, implemented, executed, and meeting program deliverables and milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing complex research projects preferred
  • 3-5 years of management and supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office software
  • Superior organizational, multitasking, time management, and efficiency skills, motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor
  • Proven track record of effective oral and written communication, including the necessary skills to interact with senior military and civilian officials, managers, and subordinates in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent writing, editing, and document layout skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-starter
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
  • Ability to provide surge support and work flexible hours during critical project milestones
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and maintain multiple competing requirements, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to switch between tasks quickly in a high-pressure environment

Management Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of new program ideas and pilot projects, including integrating successful pilots into existing program areas
  • Work with Executive Leadership to provide visionary leadership for strategic planning, program development, service delivery, and management across multiple sites and program areas
  • Aid in staffing, hiring, salary negotiations, and performance review process for staff
  • In collaboration with PI and Human Resources/People Operations, conduct counseling, corrective action, up to and including termination
  • Oversee programmatic/study-related conduct ensuring staff perform tasks within scope of project
  • Manage a team of research staff to execute clinical protocols
  • Manage multiple protocols at one time and utilize resources to ensure timely completion and execution of work
  • Ensure research staff demonstrate a basic understanding of their job descriptions and work requirements
  • Plan and facilitate individual and team meetings
  • Ensure employees comply with Geneva and site policies and SOPs

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution and conduct of projects and cross-functional project teams to ensure that all project activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance with all applicable regulations, deliverables, and SOPs
  • Collaborate with Project Director and/or PI to ensure alignment of study timelines, risk reviews, and budgets with higher-level program timelines
  • Support development of comprehensive study budgets in partnership with site and portfolio teams and help the team manage costs to established budgets
  • Develop study-related forecasts (e.g., spend, team performance, etc.), manage and track overall program budget, track and provide financial reports as requested
  • Contribute to development and implementation of various cross-functional study plans and materials (e.g., communication plans, project management plans, etc.)
  • Facilitate ongoing risk management activities including identification and tracking of risks and issues
  • Develop, design, coordinate production, and assist with the distribution of marketing materials and/or research dissemination for projects
  • Track and report on project progress and status (financial, project, etc.) to established oversight committees and relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare interim and final progress reports for each research study
  • Ensure study activities are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Assist with preparation of technical or sponsor required reporting
  • Assist with preparation of funding applications
  • Promote networking opportunities with sponsors and researchers
  • Liaison with large teams to include program staff at various Military Treatment Facilities and major academic institutions

Pay

Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000. Salaries and hourly pay rates are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Schedule

This is a full time position required to work on site in Ft. Bragg, NC.
