Eligibility Specialist Supervisor

About the role

Ramsey County is hiring an Eligibility Specialist Supervisor to lead a team within the Financial Assistance Services Division. This leadership position oversees eligibility specialists and support staff while ensuring the effective delivery of financial assistance programs, compliance with regulations, and continuous improvement of department operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate Eligibility Specialists, Program Assistants, and administrative staff.
• Oversight of daily operations, assignment of workloads, and compliance with federal, state, and county regulations.
• Analyze program data, identify trends, and prepare reports to support staffing and operational planning.
• Development of tracking systems and maintenance of workload standards.
• Serving as a liaison with community organizations, public agencies, and service providers.
• Assistance with complex client situations and coordination of referrals to appropriate services.
• Response to client inquiries and complaints.
• Representation of the department at hearings, committee meetings, and community events.
• Recommendation of policy, procedural, and legislative improvements.
• Participation in automation projects and improvement of business processes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college.
• Six years of experience, including:
• Four years as an Eligibility Specialist or Eligibility Specialist Senior (or equivalent government financial/medical assistance eligibility experience).
• Two years of clerical, customer service, or client service experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
