About the role

The successful candidate will teach Art/Ceramics to students in grades 9-12. This position is 75% instructional and 25% administrative.

Responsibilities

• Teach Art/Ceramics to students in grades 9-12
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum standards
• Assess student progress and provide feedback through formal and informal assessments
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and activities
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
• Support extracurricular arts programs as needed

Requirements

• Valid California teaching credential in Art/Ceramics
• At least two years of teaching experience at the secondary level
• Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic ability and teaching skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and staff
• Passing scores on the subject matter examination for teachers (SME-T) in Art/Ceramics

Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Knowledge of current art education trends and best practices
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

• Proficiency in using digital tools and software for art instruction
• Ability to manage classroom technology effectively
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Pay

Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
