Elevator/Escalator Repairperson Spec. (1170)

About the role

As an experienced Elevator/Escalator Repairperson, you will troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, adjust, assemble, and disassemble elevators, escalators, and similarly related equipment and their components.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, repair, and adjust elevators, escalators, and related equipment and their components.
• Use diagnostic software, microprocessors, and PLC logic controls.
• Read and interpret control schematics, identify components, and understand their functions.
• Inspect, disassemble, install, and test motor controls and components on escalators, elevators, or similar equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions in elevator/escalator systems and inspect, adjust, and maintain hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems related to elevators and escalators.
• Troubleshoot and repair controllers and/or components.
• Comply with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures.
• Report safety concerns, compromises, or hazards affecting operations, the public, or employees.
• Promote personal safety and the safety of others.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of technical electro-mechanical discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Three years of relevant work experience (trade school curriculum may substitute for up to one year of experience).
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass a pre-employment written test.
