Elementary Teaching Assistant - Scottsdale, AZ

About the role

The position offers roles as both a Teaching Assistant and an Apprentice Teacher at Archway Scottsdale Classical Academy in Scottsdale, AZ. The compensation is $16.00-$18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher in implementing a rich Core Knowledge curriculum
• Function as a second teacher in the classroom, without bearing the full responsibility of planning, grading/evaluation, and parent communications
• Learn the craft of teaching through mentorship with a Master Teacher in a classical, liberal arts, primary-school environment
• Many Apprentice Teachers progress to become lead teachers at either lower or upper schools (assuming a bachelor's degree)

Requirements

A bachelor's degree is not required for this role.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements
• May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities

Skills

Strong communication skills, patience, and ability to work well with children are essential.
