Elementary Teacher (SY 26-27)
Charter School of Inquiry (CSI) is a vibrant school community responding to the academic and social needs of approximately 350 students in grades K-6. CSI is a unique community-based school that has emerged as a trusted institution for families in its Eastside neighborhood. The school embraces the co-teaching model, with two certified teachers and a teaching assistant in every classroom, and successfully implements its ground-breaking key design elements. Most notably, the school-wide use of the Inquiry Learning Model fosters critical thinking and problem-solving, and African and African American heritage is infused into all curricular areas. Teachers and teaching assistants at CSI are eligible to participate in the New York State Teacher Retirement System.
Responsibilities
- Implement the Inquiry Learning Model to foster critical thinking and problem-solving in students.
- Infuse African and African American heritage and culture into all curricular areas.
- Work within a co-teaching model alongside another certified teacher and a teaching assistant.
Requirements
- Valid NYS Teacher Certification as required by law.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (preferred).
- Two years of teaching experience (preferred).
Pay
Competitive salary range: $48,000 – $57,000.
Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Probationary appointment status.
- Start date: August 24, 2026.
