About the role

This position is a current need for our students. Educators must reside in AZ and will use online learning to personalize the education of their students.

Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership for student’s academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations and showing active interest in student’s achievement;
  • Prepares students for high-stakes standardized tests;
  • Makes self open and available to be coached on a regular basis with administrators;
  • Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate learning models as needed;
  • SUBMIT GRADES AND REQUIRED STUDENT WORK ensuring student academic honesty and integrity;
  • Generates formal and informal reports regarding student progress, alerts administrators to concerns about student performance and progress;
  • Creates and maintains an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school goals and programs;
  • Creates and maintains a positive, orderly, and academically focused instructional environment;
  • Provides classroom management and discipline that ensures safety at all times;
  • Provides communication and support to students and parents on a daily basis via through a variety of tools: phone, messaging, text messaging, and emails;
  • Evaluates student progress and provides individualized instruction and feedback;
  • Ensures compliance with special services such as IEP’s and other related mandates;
  • POSTS A DAILY ANNOUNCEMENT IN EACH COURSE that motivates the students to participate in the daily lessons;
  • MANAGES THE DISCUSSION BOARDS IN EACH CLASS to encourage participation and learning in the online classroom;
  • Maintains a professional code of conduct, including but not limited to professional language, actions, and attire;
  • MAINTAINS PROFESSIONAL CONFIDENTIALITY of personal and private matters pertaining to students, parents, and co-workers;
  • EMPLOYS A VARIETY OF INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES AND STRATEGIES aligned with instructional objectives, in order to meet the needs of all students;
  • Additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Must possess or be able to acquire an K-8 Arizona teaching license issued by the Arizona Department of Education;
  • Must have a baseline IVP Level 1 DPS background check at the time of employment.

  • Displays awareness and willingness to understand personal role and how it contributes to the success of other departments or functional areas;

  • Knows and is proficient in Microsoft Office programs;
  • Adapts to change while conveying professionalism.

  • Starting salary for teachers is $55,000 annually, excluding Prop 301 funding;
