Elementary Teacher ( Auke Bay Elementary School)
About the Role
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Principal, Literacy Coach, Instructional Support Team, and colleagues on instructional strategies, ongoing assessment, curriculum, and data analysis. This position focuses on building strong relationships with families and staff to meet the social, emotional, and instructional needs of each student.
The role requires experience with primary differentiated instructional strategies in reading, writing, and mathematics, along with a strong knowledge of Early Childhood best practices. Applicants must have extensive experience with effective instructional strategies in reading, including guided reading and direct instruction, as well as knowledge of ongoing assessment and progress monitoring. The position involves learning and implementing new instructional techniques and is ideal for lifelong learners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
- Valid Alaska teaching certificate, or ability to obtain upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in education.
- Attendance at Literacy Institute and/or further training in the teaching of reading.
- Successful elementary teaching experience.
