Job Description
The Elementary Teacher Assistant - Special Education position supports students in grades K-5 within the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. This role involves assisting teachers in classroom management, providing individualized support to students with special needs, and implementing educational strategies as directed.
- Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Support students with daily routines and transitions
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special education needs
- Help implement lesson plans and activities tailored to student needs
- Monitor student progress and report on academic and behavioral performance
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to enhance student outcomes
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a strong background in special education, preferably with experience working with elementary-aged children. A bachelor's degree in special education or related field is required, along with certification as a Special Education Teacher Assistant (SETA).
