Elementary Special Education Teacher

We are looking for certified and highly qualified and experienced candidates with the following attributes:

Requirements

• Valid NYS Teacher Certification in one of the following areas:
  • Childhood Education (Grades 1-6)
  • Students with Disabilities (B-2)
  • Students with Disabilities (1-6)
  • Students with Disabilities (7-12)
  • Students with Disabilities (All Grades)
• Enthusiastic and passionate about working with all students
• Ability to work collaboratively with co-professionals
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
• Competent in completing assessments and reporting as appropriate

Responsibilities

• Write, interpret, and administer IEPs
• Plan for, provide, and document instruction for students with disabilities (SWDs)
• Understand NYS mandates for Individual Education Plans
• Provide instruction for SWDs consistent with NYS Standards and NYS Regulations
