About the Role
We are seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher to join CPA's Special Education team. This teacher will provide direct and indirect services to eligible students in 1st through 4th grade, oversee due process requirements for students on their caseload, direct the work of program paraprofessionals, and collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to support student academic and social-emotional success. The role includes monitoring student progress and facilitating due process meetings.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect special education services to eligible students in grades 1–4.
- Oversee due process requirements for students on your caseload.
- Direct the work of program paraprofessionals.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to support student academic and social-emotional success.
- Monitor student progress and facilitate due process meetings.
Requirements
- Hold a Minnesota Teaching license in Special Education.
- Demonstrate strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff.
- Show an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards.
Caseload & Support
- Manage a caseload of up to 15 students.
- Receive 2 allocated blocks of time within the school day to complete due process work.
- Supported by a full-time, on-site Special Education Coordinator, a Due Process Specialist, and a Special Education Coach.
- All new teachers are paired with a Mentor.
