Elementary Special Education Paraprofessional
This role involves working with students across a variety of ability levels and collaborating closely with special services team members. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to ensuring that students with special needs and emotional disabilities receive a high-quality education aligned with their individualized goals and state standards.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Two (2) or more years of post-secondary education OR successful completion of the ParaPro assessment (willingness to take and pass the assessment if not already completed)
- Ability to support and implement student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to student growth, achievement, and success
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teaching staff to support the growth and development of students with diverse disabilities
- Participate actively in regular paraprofessional meetings
- Document and collect data to monitor student progress and IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with teachers, colleagues, and administrators using a variety of technology platforms
- Support students in maintaining high standards for academic achievement, including homework and classroom learning activities
