Elementary Service Learning Coordinator

About the role

The Coordinator of Service Learning and Community Engagement (Elementary, K-5) leads, designs, and advances student-centered service-learning initiatives across Anne Hutchinson and Greenvale Schools. Operating with programmatic autonomy, the coordinator helps build community engagement strategies, establishes local partnerships, and fosters authentic civic learning tailored to elementary students.

Responsibilities

• Initiating an overarching elementary service-learning vision, incorporating external initiatives — such as the Loukoumi Good Deed Council — as optional or complementary components rather than defining frameworks.
• Facilitating monthly after-school student leadership and service clubs (one monthly meeting per building) focused on student-led community action.
• Supporting school-wide service projects tailored to building-specific goals and student interests (one per building per year).
• Collaborating independently with teachers to integrate service-learning and civic reflection into classroom units.
• Cultivating and sustaining direct partnerships with local civic, non-profit, and community organizations to expand experiential learning scope.

Pay

Annual stipend of $5,000.
