About the role

Responsibilities
- Teach students with special needs according to curriculum standards and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school counselors to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual learning needs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of special education practices.
- Work closely with families to communicate and coordinate with parents about their child’s educational progress and needs.
Requirements
- BA/BS from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in area of assignment: Special Education Generalist.
- Experience District 49 credits each year of verified full-time/full-year relevant experience.
- Experience working with students with special needs.

- Completion of Colorado READ Act training requirements.

Pay
The minimum starting pay is $50,500/year and the maximum salary is $101,999/year. Initial pay placement is dependent on level of formal education and years of relevant experience.
Schedule
182 contracted work days.
