Elementary School Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach students with special needs according to curriculum standards and individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school counselors to provide comprehensive support to students.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual learning needs.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of special education practices.
• Work closely with families to communicate and coordinate with parents about their child’s educational progress and needs.

Requirements

• BA/BS from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Colorado teaching license endorsed in area of assignment: Special Education Generalist.
• Experience District 49 credits each year of verified full-time/full-year relevant experience.
• Experience working with students with special needs.

Pay

The minimum starting pay is $50,500/year and the maximum salary is $101,999/year. Initial pay placement is dependent on level of formal education and years of relevant experience.

Schedule

182 contracted work days.
