About the role

The Woodward ES is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional to support their ISS Discipline and Character Development Program. The primary responsibility is to implement, deliver and promote high academic expectations to all students.

Responsibilities

• Provides small group and/or individualized instruction to students, in accordance with lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Affords assistance to teachers with daily classroom management activities designed to ensure that students demonstrate behavior that is conducive to an effective learning environment.
• Affords assistance to teachers with assessment of student performance (standardized and non-standardized testing) and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Affords assistance to teachers with the development and organization of appropriate instructional materials for use with students and ensures the availability of these materials prior to scheduled instructional segments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with GPA 2.0 or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is required.
• - or - High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment is required.

Qualifications

• Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.

• Knowledgeable and strong desire to help students learn.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
