About the role
A regular teaching contract in Elementary Music is available at Clay Community Schools. The position is a split position between East Side, Forest Park, and Staunton Elementary Schools. A copy of the Clay Community Schools Master Contract is attached for candidates' reference regarding salary and benefits. The start date is August 3, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach music to students in grades K-5
- Develop and implement music curriculum aligned with state standards
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance educational programs
- Maintain classroom management and student behavior
- Participate in professional development opportunities
Requirements
- IDOE teaching license with a General Music content area
- Strong background in music education
- Ability to work effectively with children and adults
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field
- Experience teaching elementary music
- Knowledge of current educational practices and technologies
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
