About the Role

As a Bilingual Teacher at YES Prep, you will develop rigorous lessons in your specific content area, utilizing 1:1 blended learning environments to prepare students for college and beyond. You will set ambitious goals, track student growth, and build transformative relationships with students and families. This role involves collaborating with colleagues, conducting tutorials, and completing supervision duties to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver rigorous lessons in a 1:1 blended learning environment.
• Set and monitor ambitious student goals, providing frequent feedback.
• Track student growth and create plans to address achievement concerns.
• Communicate regularly with parents via phone, video conference, email, or district-approved platforms.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to physical, social, and emotional development.
• Collaborate with co-planners to enhance daily lesson plans and resources.
• Meet deadlines for lesson plans, grades, and work samples.
• Work with content teams to improve student learning through professional development.
• Conduct weekly tutorials outside regular class hours.
• Complete supervision duties, including morning, lunch, dismissal, detention, and afterschool duties.
• Grow professionally by giving and receiving feedback.
• Provide personal care services as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).
• Texas Educator Certification or willingness to join ACP for bilingual certification.
• Bilingual Spanish fluency.
• Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology.
• Ability to instruct students using various technology platforms.
• Commitment to YES Prep’s mission and core values.
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
• Capacity to work urgently in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
