Elementary Guide Position

About the role

Divine Mercy Academy is seeking a trained Montessori elementary guide to lead one of our two elementary classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Lead a classroom of students aged 6-9 years old
• Implement the Montessori method and pedagogy
• Develop literacy and math skills in students
• Achieve and track student knowledge progress
• Work closely with another elementary guide and the student services team
• Participate in the school's unique funding model

Requirements

• Striving for holiness, respectfulness, charity, humility, mercy, joy, community orientation, and commitment to the school mission
• Honoring the dignity of every child and fostering a love of learning
• A strong understanding of the Montessori method and its impact on child development
• A thorough knowledge of Montessori pedagogy and confidence in its implementation
• A solid grasp of literacy and math skills development
• A self-driven and hardworking approach to teaching
• The ability to work effectively with another elementary guide and the student services team
• Training in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
• Montessori certification at the elementary level
• Experience working with elementary-aged children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

• Effective classroom management
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual student needs
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
