Elementary English Language Arts Tutor

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups (1‑4 students) of elementary school students on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
• Support students struggling with fundamental ELA skills, Kindergarten through 5th grade.
• Provide push‑in or pull‑out tutoring sessions within the classroom or outside of it.
• Take daily attendance and monitor student progress using a personal mobile device.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (any field); anticipated graduation dates not accepted.
• At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience in a school or other educational setting.
• Mastery of elementary school English Language Arts concepts and skills.
• Understanding of the unique challenges faced by urban students, schools, and communities (racial, socio‑economic, cultural disparities).
• Genuine passion and commitment to fostering student success.
• Exemplary punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Ability to commute to the Bronx, NY 10473 school location.
• Ability to navigate a school environment (hallways, classrooms, stairways) throughout the workday.

Pay

$28.16 – $31.29 per hour.

Schedule

Position runs from October 13, 2026 through February 2, 2027, with hours 8:00 AM EST to 2:20 PM EST, Tuesday‑Thursday.
