Qualifications
- Clear, valid renewable Georgia certification in Educational Leadership
- Minimum of a Master's degree
- Minimum of five years teaching experience
- Minimum of five years administrative experience
- PREFERRED: Experience as a building level administrator
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed acceptable by the Board
Performance Responsibilities
- Cook up and guide the implementation of the state-mandated curriculum; Pre-K through grade 5.
- Deliver professional development for Pre-K through grade 5.
- Deliver the K-12 state-mandated testing program.
- Support the coordination of a K-12 MTSS framework.
- Cook up the Pre-K program.
- Cook up the K-12 media services program.
- Cook up the K-5 Gifted program.
- Aid in the completion of the GDOE Consolidated Application as related to job responsibilities.
- Facilitate systemwide teacher meetings throughout the year that focus on curriculum and instruction initiatives.
- Participate in the annual system budget planning process in areas related to job responsibilities.
- Review and evaluate the results of systemwide assessments and other evaluative measures used by the schools to identify school improvement needs at both the school and district levels.
- Work jointly with the directors of other district programs on school improvement/academic achievement efforts that intersect with job responsibilities.
- Promote and support the educational objectives and district strategic goals.
- Represent the district as a member of elementary-related committees/advisory groups/activities at Northeast Georgia RESA.
- Attend workshops/trainings/conferences related to PK-5 curriculum and instruction in order to be up-to-date with curriculum programs/trends/state and federal mandates.
- Establish a rapport with local, Northeast Georgia RESA, Bright from the Start, and Georgia Department of Education staff members to enhance a cooperative effort between personnel and the district.
- Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.
