About the role
This role provides classroom-based support to promote safe, consistent, and productive learning environments at Clearfield Elementary.
Responsibilities
- Implement behavior supports and intervention plans as designed by the school team
- Support students in accessing instruction and participating in classroom routines and expectations
- Use proactive strategies to prevent escalation and support positive behavior throughout the school day
- Provide real-time support during challenging situations using trained de-escalation and safety procedures
- Aid in academic engagement as it relates to behavioral supports
- Collect and document data on student progress and behavior
- Work as part of a team with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement and maintain consistent supports
- Maintain a safe and structured environment for students and staff
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working with students in a school or related setting preferred
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students and school teams
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in high-stress or crisis situations
- Ability to follow and implement established plans (i.e. Behavior Intervention Plans) and strategies with consistency
- Basic computer skills for data collection and reporting

Benefits
The district SFRD Behavior Team provides ongoing training and coaching to support implementation.
Pay
$19.02 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table) [Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase]
Schedule
5.9 hours per day/174 days per year
