Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Captures and leads all special education and related services in the building and represents the school district at IEP and 504 meetings.
- Promotes effective communication and participation between the community, staff, and students, identifies needs, and plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates school-community relations activities.
- Maintains compliance and implements 504 plans to ensure educational equity and access.
- Demonstrates commitment to improving student achievement through best practices in elementary special education programming.
- Aids in the leadership of the building's staff development program, evaluates employees, develops and administers the school budget, and interprets and implements policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Uses data from various sources to enhance student learning, school climate, and overall school performance.
- Participates in and leads regular meetings with the building principal, building leadership team, student services team, and district leadership team.
- Fosters a positive learning environment by establishing, enforcing, and maintaining appropriate student behavior standards and guidelines.
- Improves and evaluates instructional and management programs to meet the needs of students, schools, communities, and the district.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or equivalent
- LBS1 certification
- Illinois Professional Educator License registered in DuPage County and endorsed as a General Administrator or Principal
- Preferred but not required: Completion of Illinois Performance Evaluation Teacher Evaluation Modules
- Experience leading school communities and special education/student services
