Elementary Art Teacher .5 FTE

About the role

The Lansing School District is seeking a part-time Art Teacher to join our dynamic and diverse educational community. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the exceptional education provided to students in a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate passion for and expertise in art
• Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
• Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
• Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
• Work alongside other teachers, parents, and students to support the district's mission

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or in art practice
• Previous experience working with children
• Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a specialty endorsement (i.e. LX, LQ, LZ, OX)
• Previous teaching experience in an urban setting
• Training in CRPBIS and other related instructional methodologies
