Elementary Apprentice Teacher (SY 26-27)
for sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. Must not repeat job title as heading. Must not include Job ID etc. Must remove boilerplate like EEO, etc. Must preserve all substantive info.
We need to parse the posting.
Sections present:
- WHO WE ARE (about organization) -> could be "About the role"? Actually "About the role" maybe about the position? But we have "WHO WE ARE" describing organization. Could map to "About the role"? Might be better to use "About the role" heading for description of role? However we have "WHAT YOU'LL DO" for responsibilities. "WHO YOU ARE" for qualifications/skills. "COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS" for pay and benefits. "LOCATION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS" maybe schedule? Not exactly schedule but location and physical requirements. Could be "Schedule"? Not exactly. The posting mentions standard work week 45 hours, in-person required, exempt not eligible for overtime. That's schedule info. So we can have a Schedule section.
We also have "Compensation and Benefits" includes salary range and benefits details. So we can split into Pay and Benefits sections.
We need to avoid filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present.
We need to include all substantive info.
Let's extract:
About the role? Could be "About the role" summarizing the position: maybe combine WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE BELIEVE? But those are about organization mission. Could be "About the role" describing the role? Actually the role description is in WHAT YOU'LL DO. So maybe we don't need About the role section; we could skip if no specific content. But we need to include sections only when posting has real specific content for it. The posting does not have a generic "About the role" paragraph separate from WHO WE ARE etc. However we could treat "WHO WE ARE" as About the role? Might be okay but it's about organization not role. The instruction: use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It says e.g., not mandatory to use all. So we can choose which sections to include based on content.
We have content for:
- Responsibilities: WHAT YOU'LL DO (list of duties)
- Requirements: maybe "Bachelor's degree required", "Experience working with children preferred", also some qualities? But those could be Qualifications/Skills.
- Qualifications: maybe "Bachelor's degree required", "Experience working with children preferred"
- Skills: list of qualities: Dedicated to working in underserved communities, Committed to identity work, Exceptional patience/focus, Strong classroom management, Exceptional communication, Detail-oriented/organized.
- Benefits: details about benefits package.
- Pay: salary range $55,000 annually for 26-27 SY, plus additional compensation opportunities.
- Schedule: In-person work required, exempt not eligible for overtime, standard work week 45 hours, may work more, physical requirements (stand 5 hours, stairs, move quickly). Could be schedule/location.
We also have location info: network of 6 charter schools in Canarsie, Crown Heights, Flatbush; schools operating fully in-person. Could be part of Location section but not in headings list. Could incorporate into Schedule or maybe we can add a Location section? Not in allowed headings list but we could still include? The instruction says use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It implies we should stick to those headings; we shouldn't invent others. So location info maybe goes under Schedule? Or we could add a brief note under Schedule about location and in-person requirement.
We must not include boilerplate like EEO, equal opportunity, etc. So remove that section.
We must not include duplicated lines.
We must preserve all substantive info.

Schedule
In‑person work is required. This is an exempt position and is not eligible for overtime. The standard work week is 45 hours, though you may work more at times. Physical requirements include being able to stand for at least 5 hours a day, take multiple trips up and down stairs in a day, and move quickly in an emergency. The schools are located in the Canarsie, Crown Heights, and Flatbush communities of Brooklyn, NY and operate fully in‑person.
We should not include About the role, Requirements sections if we already have Qualifications and Skills. Could we add Requirements? The posting has "Bachelor's degree required" and "Experience working with children preferred". Those could be under Requirements. But we already have Qualifications. The instruction list includes Requirements as a possible heading. We could combine Qualifications and Requirements? But better to follow the headings list: we have Qualifications and Skills; we could also include Requirements if we have distinct content. However we might be duplicating. Let's see: The posting includes "Bachelor's degree required" under WHO YOU ARE; also "Experience working with children preferred". That's basically qualifications. Could treat as Requirements. But we also have a list of qualities under WHO YOU ARE that are more like Skills. So we could split: Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, Experience working with children preferred. Skills: the list of qualities. That seems appropriate. Thus we will have:Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience working with children preferred
Skills
- ...list of qualities...
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It doesn't forbid using About the role for organization description. So we can create an About the role section containing WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE BELIEVE content.
Thus we need to add:
About the role
Explore Schools is a network of public charter schools providing nearly 1,700 students in Brooklyn with the outstanding education they deserve. Our goal is to provide students with curriculum and instruction that is both standards-aligned and culturally responsive. Our approach is designed to provide the conditions that nurture students as critical thinkers and natural problem-solvers. As an organization we are committed to engaging in work that disrupts and roots out systems and structures that perpetuate white supremacy. We intentionally seek to build and maintain a diverse and talented team that reflects the backgrounds and experiences of our students and creates an inclusive environment for all employees.
We believe that all children can learn when immersed in a rich environment full of high expectations, rigorous academics, and caring, committed adults. We believe equity and excellence are not mutually exclusive—we can meet the needs of all students in our schools, while actively engaging parents and driving toward excellent academic results. We believe it is both our privilege and responsibility to help close the opportunity gap in the Brooklyn community.
That preserves WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE BELIEVE. Now we have About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Skills, Pay, Benefits, Schedule. We omitted Qualifications; fine. Check for any other substantive info: "Additionally, you can expect: A competitive and comprehensive benefits plan..." we captured in Benefits. "Additional training and professional development to support Apprentice Teachers becoming a full-time teacher." included. "Flexible and
