About the Role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Environmental Portrait Artist to create an immersive, story-rich illustration. This project will focus on capturing a quiet, cinematic moment inside a sunlit secondhand bookstore, blending photorealistic detail with a warm, comforting atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Create a highly detailed, photorealistic environmental portrait based on the provided visual baseline and scene description.
• Strictly adhere to the subject’s facial features, structure, and styling (long chestnut-brown hair, cream-colored oversized sweater).
• Render intricate textures, including knit sweater fibers, aged book pages, cat fur, and subtle environmental details (e.g., dust particles, condensation on a ceramic cup).
• Use natural lighting to evoke a warm, nostalgic mood, with attention to volumetric light (Tyndall effect) and patterned shadows.
• Capture the interaction between the subject and the cat, emphasizing tranquility and narrative depth.
• Deliver the final artwork in 8K ultra-high resolution with cinematic composition.

Requirements

• Proven experience in photorealistic illustration, environmental portraits, or cinematic digital art.
• Strong grasp of lighting, texture, and composition to convey mood and storytelling.
• Proficiency in high-resolution digital tools (e.g., Photoshop, Procreate, or similar).
• Ability to follow detailed creative direction while adding nuanced, lifelike details.
• Portfolio demonstrating expertise in photorealistic character and environmental work.

Skills

• Mastery of light and shadow to create depth and atmosphere.
• Expertise in rendering fabrics, fur, and organic textures.
• Strong observational skills for lifelike expressions and interactions.
• Ability to work with warm, nostalgic color palettes.
• Attention to subtle details (e.g., whisker twitches, dust particles, condensation).
