Utilizing advanced clinical skills, the Electrophysiology Specialist assists the Electrophysiology (EP) physician in the performance of diagnostic EP, mapping and ablation procedures, including scrub assist, monitoring hemodynamics, and pacing/recording using EP recording systems, and documenting in the EMR. Independently demonstrates the ability to utilize evidence-based clinical knowledge to assist the EP physician with the diagnoses and treatment plan of the electrophysiology patient through the setup and operation of diagnostic and treatment devices in the electrophysiology suite.

Responsibilities

  • Works in collaboration with the medical staff and department leadership to recommend and maintain the supply chain of products in the EP suite.
  • Works in collaboration with the medical staff and department leadership to train and monitor the performance of all personnel working in the EP suite.
  • Remains current with the organization's regulatory standards and CMS regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Radiology Program, or a graduate from a Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technician program, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field preferred.
  • More than 10 months of Cath/EP Lab experience required.
  • 3 years of Cath/EP Lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Certification required.
  • ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Certification required.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) – Certification required upon hire.
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) – Certification required within 1 year.

Schedule

  • 3x12-hour shifts OR 4x10-hour shifts.
  • No call, weekend, or holiday shifts.

Pay

$20,000 sign-on bonus available.
