About the role

Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse for the EP Lab. Up to $30,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualified candidates.

The Registered Nurse (RN) performs competent nursing care using the critical-thinking nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care (teaching and health promotion), and evaluation—aligned with professional performance standards (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health). The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills specific to the assigned clinical area.

The EP Lab RN provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac electrophysiology procedures, collaborating with electrophysiologists, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) (preferred)
• Virginia RN License or Compact/Multi-State eligibility
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire (required for all direct care RNs)
• 2+ years of cardiac nursing experience
